how to buy my books

How Apple users can get my Carina books in the UK

We’re having an interesting discussion on the Carina authors’ loop, where a few of us have reported in that readers in the UK can’t get Carina titles via the iBookstore. As Carina titles are available in the US iBookstore, you can expect we find this a little frustrating!

We’ve also been discussing that Carina’s own site has issues with not accepting UK-based methods of payment, so that means directing UK readers to the main Carina site won’t necessarily be a workable solution, either. Also frustrating!

However, we have determined that there are still viable ways for UK-based readers who happen to be owners of Apple devices to get Carina books. The drawback to this is that you have to be willing to buy books from sources other than the iBookstore.

(This post is long, so the details are behind the fold.)

Faerie Blood, Valor of the Healer

And now, a Faerie Blood sales report

I note with some amazement that yesterday I apparently made a sale of Faerie Blood on the UK iTunes store–that’s the first time this has ever happened. 🙂 Thank you, unknown UK reader! I hope you enjoy the book!

This means, O Internets, that I am now a single sale away from the 300 mark, and the promised Dyeing of My Hair. Which means in turn that probably some time in the next couple of weeks, I will be scheduling myself a trip to Dara’s salon, and hopefully booking the same girl that does her hair! There will, of course, be pictures. And the side benefit of having cut my hair prior to my recent surgery is that now I have quite a bit less hair, so dyeing it will be cheaper!

As a general reminder, since I have been asked on this on the social Intarwebz, Faerie Blood is available on several major ebook vending sites–Amazon, B&N, iTunes (in LOTS of countries), Kobo, Smashwords, Google Play, and Sony. You can also buy it directly from me if you’re PDF-inclined and you’d like the lovely high-res-cover PDF version that Dara made.

AND! As a second general reminder, I do have a piping hot fresh print run in so I have a bunch of print copies available. So if you’d like a print copy, either for yourself or for a gift for someone for the upcoming holidays, you can get one directly from me.

See the official Faerie Blood page for all the deets on where to buy it! And as always, thank you for your support, everyone!

P.S. And don’t forget–Valor of the Healer remains NICELY cheaply priced as well, at the apparently now-permanent $2.99 price point! Since Vengeance of the Hunter will be coming out in April, you might want to read up on Valor before Vengeance drops!

Faerie Blood

Want to see me with Amusing Hair sooner rather than later?

As of this writing, I am a scant eleven sales away from breaking the 300 mark for sales of the current edition of Faerie Blood! And since I have a couple of people asking about this as well as expressing high amused interest in seeing my threatened pictures of what will happen to my hair, I note for official reference that I cheerfully endorse any and all efforts to get my book into the hands of anybody who doesn’t have it already!

I DO have a few more print copies available, as well as CDs that contain both editions of the book (the original Drollerie edition as well as the current shipping version) in a variety of formats, if you’re an ebook reader but want something signed. I will happily send those out to anyone who wants to buy ’em, whether for yourselves or others.

Also, I’ll happily hand-sell extra ebook copies to anybody who wants to give them as gifts to fellow ebook readers.

You don’t even have to deal directly with me either if you want to give the ebook as a gift! The Kindle edition will let you do so directly from Amazon, as will the Nook edition and the version on Smashwords.

So if you want to see me do amusing things to my hair, likely in shades of blue and/or green and/or purple, consider giving Faerie Blood as a gift to somebody today! Kendis, Christopher, Elessir, and the rest of the cast will thank you, and so will I! As always, full details on where to get the book can be found right over here on its official page!

A few promo things make a post

Item the first: Debut Carina author Sonya Clark would like y’all to know she’s having a giveaway for her forthcoming release Trancehack, which is futuristic paranormal romance. Call it PR with a side helping of SF, if you like! Deets can be found right over here.

***

Item the second: speaking of my fellow Carina authors, the awesome Joely Sue Burkhart and Raelyn Barclay are running Coyote Con, a virtual convention, all this month! What’s a virtual convention? It’s a series of online chat discussions on various interesting topics, pretty similar to what you’d find at an actual convention in person.

I’ve been in a few of these panels now myself, and there are more to come as the month progresses! And for those panels you may have already missed, Joely and Raelyn are posting transcripts too, so you can catch up on those here.

The panels I was in in particular were Epic Fantasy, Self Publishing, and LGBTQ/Diversity.

There are a couple more panels today, and there’ll be more the remaining weekends of the month. And one chat room’s also dedicated to just general hanging out too! The full schedule is here!

***

Item the third: I will be going to Orycon from November 8-10–the weekend right before my forthcoming surgery, in fact. So unless you’re one of the people likely to show up for the annual Murkworks Thanksgiving Day Homeless Waifs Turkeyfest, this is going to be the last chance to spot the elusive Wild Anna outside her natural habitat. If you’re going to be there, find me and say hi, mmkay?

Likewise, I am going to GeekGirlCon this coming weekend, right after I go see Great Big Sea in Edmonds. I’m going to be REAL busy this weekend. 😀

***

Item the fourth: This is your friendly reminder that I am down to three print copies of Faerie Blood, so if you’d like a print copy of this book, talk to me! Getting it directly from me remains the only way to acquire it since I currently have no way of selling it online. I ask $15 if I’m going to hand deliver it, $20 if I need to mail it to you.

I also have a small stock of CDs that contain the various formats of the ebook edition, both the original Drollerie release AND the current Second Edition as well. For these, I ask $5 each.

I will have both of these items with me at GeekGirlCon and Orycon as well!

***

Item the fifth: Kickstarter backers, just so y’all know, I have totally had my brain eaten by Vengeance of the Hunter edits. I ran behind on it, and am scrambling along with my editor (who is made of solid gold awesomeness, All Hail Her Name) to get the manuscript finished up so that we don’t impact the schedule. We’re in the middle of line edits now. I will be jumping back to Bone Walker the instant we sign off on this book.

***

Item the sixth: I have not forgotten the series of posts on advice on self-publishing; these too have had to be paused while I charge through edits on Vengeance. They will resume soon. Thank you for your patience on that; I’ve seen quite a few hits on these posts, so I do want to finish the series up.

Faerie Blood

Faerie Blood now deployed to Google Play

It took me a while to do this, and it was hands down the most difficult and frustrating book deploy I’ve done. BUT! Faerie Blood is now finally available for Google Play users right over here.

This is the link I get to by going to play.google.com and just searching for “faerie blood”–but I don’t know if there are different links for international users yet. When I find out I will update the book’s official page! The book should become available worldwide for Google Play users though–so if you’re an Android user in any country where Google Play has been deployed, you should be able to get the book that way now.

Note: I am aware that Google keeps rendering the apostrophe in Korra’ti as the HTML character for it. I keep trying to fix that and it keeps screwing it up. The same thing happens when I drop comments on Blogger-based blogs, too. I’m also aware that the blurb on the page I’ve linked to is screwed up, and there doesn’t seem to be an easy way to fix that, either. (I can’t directly get at the blurb text, which is one of the frustrating things about the UI for deploying a book to the system.)

But all that said, at least now this is another way to buy the book! Spread the word, won’t you? Thank you!

Faerie Blood, Valor of the Healer

A few quick reminders and requests

Some of you loverly people have been kind enough to report in that you’re quite liking Valor of the Healer, for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart! If the spirit moves you, please consider rating and/or reviewing it somewhere suitably visible. It will help. At the level at which I operate as an author, word of mouth is critical to try to encourage others to boost my sales.

Amazon remains the best and highest visibility place to rate and/or review a book, but Goodreads would be good, too. I haven’t gotten much yet in the way of ratings or reviews at Goodreads, and Amazon has nothing at all.

Also, don’t forget that if ebooks aren’t your thing, Valor IS also available as an audiobook. Ratings and/or reviews on that would also be awesome.

And of course Faerie Blood is still available, and because Valor‘s selling for $2.99 at the moment, I’ve put Faerie Blood at the same price. So now’s a really good time to grab the ebook if you haven’t already. Also, I DO still have a small number of print copies available: seven, to be precise. The only way to get Faerie Blood in print is still to talk to me directly, so if you want one, do let me know. I’ll be happy to mail it to you! The best and fastest way to pay me for a copy remains Paypal.

Questions? Talk to me!

And as always, a roundup of everywhere you can buy both books is available on Valor’s official page and Faerie Blood’s official page. Thanks all for your ongoing support!

Faerie Blood

Faerie Blood finally available for the Nook again

After several frustrating days of fighting with this, I am relieved to report that Faerie Blood is finally available for the Nook again. Apologies to any Nook owners who might have tried to get it while it was unavailable on the B&N sites!

You can grab it again finally here for the US and here for the UK. And the book’s currently set nice and cheap to price-match Valor of the Healer! This price will remain in effect for the time being as well, at least until Bone Walker finally drops, if not sooner! So if you don’t have it already and you want it, consider picking it up!

And as always, you can find all the rest of the places the book can be found on Faerie Blood’s official page.

(But side note and fair warning to fellow self-pubbers: for the love of all that’s holy, the NookPress site was not ready to go live yet. If you’re on PubIt with your work, I do NOT recommend jumping over yet. Make ’em work all the bugs out first!)
