Faerie Blood

Announcing a Faerie Blood SALE!

Because bad medical news makes me stressy and antsy, and because DAMMIT ALL next week is my birthday and I need a boost of spirits, and because I pretty much CAN, I am now putting Faerie Blood ON SALE!

Effective immediately (for values of ‘immediately’ meaning ‘as soon as all the ebook vending sites finish processing the price change’), the ebook edition of Faerie Blood will be available for $2.99. This price will be effective until the end of January (although if it causes a sharp enough spike in sales, I may run the sale longer). The sale price should be applicable to all sales on Amazon, B&N, iTunes, Smashwords, and Kobo, and for those of you who’d just as soon buy directly from me, I’ll happily hand-sell you the ebook in the format(s) of your choice for the same price.

Sale prices will also apply to the print editions I still have in my personal stock. $15 even to all comers and I’ll ship to you free of charge.

Signal boosts to all and sundry would be very, very appreciated, folks! Especially if you’ve already got your own copy of Faerie Blood. If you liked it, please tell folks. Reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, or any other place where Faerie Blood is sold would be awesome as well. Thanks all.

ETA: Might be helpful if I added LINKS, no? Here you go!

Amazon | Barnes and Noble | iTunes | Kobo | Smashwords

Those are all the main US links! Further links, including the various non-US Amazon, B&N, and iTunes sites, can be found on Faerie Blood’s official page!

ETA #2: Some more links, hopefully to pull in folks where I’ve periodically sold copies outside the US!

For my Canadian pals: Amazon CA | iTunes CA | Kobo

For the UK: Amazon UK | Nook UK | iTunes UK

And don’t forget, folks, you can also buy ebook copies directly from me if you’d rather not go through a commercial vendor! I’m the only source for the fancy PDFs with a high-res cover and a bonus interior pen-and-ink version of the cover art as well, which’d look awfully good on an iPad or a Kindle Fire or an Android tablet. Talk to me directly as well if you’d like a print copy of the book! Email to my angela.korrati address on gmail, or use my Contact form!

Faerie Blood

Faerie Blood in print for the holidays!

Hey all, just as a general reminder: I DO have print copies of Faerie Blood available to be hand-sold to anyone who wants one! So if ebooks aren’t your thing, but you’d still like Kendis and Christopher and Elessir on your shelf, I can help you out with that!

Normally I would ask $20 for any copy I’m mailing out, but for the month of December, I am going to waive my shipping charges. So whether I’m hand-delivering or mailing to you, the asking price until January 1, 2013, is $15 USD! (Or CAD, for my Canadian friends!)

Best way to pay me is via Paypal to my gmail address, annathepiper. Alternately, I will accept equivalent credit anywhere I can buy ebooks (first choices being the Barnes and Noble site and Kobo), or iTunes store credit! Lastly, I will also accept mailed checks or cash, just be advised that I won’t send out a book until I receive payment, so that’s the slowest option.

If you want a copy, please email me at the aforementioned email address to make arrangements! And thank you in advance for your support!

Faerie Blood

Faerie Blood now available for the Nook in the UK

Thanks to Barnes and Noble extending the reach of the Nook into the UK, you can now buy Faerie Blood for that device there! I’ve had a few UK folks buy me for the Kindle, many thanks for that–and many thanks as well, in advance, to any UK Nook owners who might happen to pick me up!

And now that this is in place, the UK Nook link has now been added to the official Faerie Blood page!

Meanwhile, the iTunes store has opened up business in 18 more territories and I’ll be deploying the book to those, just because I can, as soon as I can! My iTunes sales have fallen off hard, but I can’t sell nothin’ if the books ain’t on the stores! More news on this as events warrant.

On a related note, as a general reminder, I do still have plenty of print copies of Faerie Blood available. So if you never got one out of the first print run and you’d like a print copy, contact me and let me know! Check the Faerie Blood page for info on how to pay me for a print copy!

Bone Walker, Faerie Blood

Kickstarter and Bone Walker update goodness

For those of you who haven’t already seen this update go out to my Kickstarter backers list, I’m delighted to report that there’s some movement on the Kickstarter front!

Backer and friend and fellow session player Ellen, who is made entirely of awesomeness, threw me a boatload of tunes recommendations that will plug very nicely into the instrumental set tracks for the soundtrack, as well as into the bridge of our take of “Lukey”. Moreover, since Ellen is a fine dulcimer player, she’ll be joining us on the soundtrack work! Dara and I feel that she’ll very well represent the presence of Kendis’ house brownies, musically speaking.

I’m feeling particularly happy about the selection of tunes for what’s going to be the battle track for the climax of Bone Walker–Pigeon on the Gate, Tam Linn (a.k.a., appropriately, ‘Howling Wind’), and Farewell to Erin. Those of you who are Irish/trad tunes people, you may be able to get an idea of what that set’s going to sound like just by that alone. I encourage you to seek those tunes out if you’d like to get an idea of what we’re shooting for!

(And this of course means now I actually have to LEARN these tunes. Eep! *^_^*;;)

I’m on tap for a copyedit run through Lament of the Dove–my first formal copyedit run, woo! But that’s due on the 24th. After that, my plan will be to charge through the rest of Bone Walker, which means finishing up Chapter 21 and then a couple more chapters of denouement after that. I’m talking with my editor for that about scheduling–whether this means she’ll be able to do the editing round in December, or whether that’s going to slide to January.

And, happily, the postcards and posters of the Faerie Blood art are now on their way to me! Kickstarter backers have claim on just about all of the initial run of postcards, though it’s highly likely I’ll do a second run if the first run comes out okay. The first run of posters will leave me with several extras, though. So I’ll have enough to offer to people if they want them, once my Kickstarter backers are taken care of!

Fun times at the Murkworks! 😀

Bone Walker, Faerie Blood

Seeking tunes help for the Bone Walker soundtrack

Things have been pretty wacky around the Murkworks these last few months what with this whole book deal thing going on with Carina–but I do still have the Free Court of Seattle books and related things going on for all you fine folks who supported my Kickstarter. And it’s time for Dara and me to get back to working on the soundtrack for Faerie Blood and Bone Walker!

Which means I need to make some musical decisions. Part of the plan for this soundtrack, as y’all may remember, is that it will include a few instrumental sets of traditional tunes. I am on tap to make final selections for the tracks that need them–but here’s the thing. I am hampered by lack of personal repertoire, and by the sheer staggering tsunami of tunes from the Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, and many other traditions to choose from!

Internets, this means I’m going to turn to you. I know a couple people who’re reading me on Dreamwidth are Irish music people, and I have quite a few musicians Friended on Facebook who may click over to read this. So for any of you who may be reading, I seek tunes to fit the following scenarios:

1) A jaunty hornpipe in G or D (though I am capable of transposition so will consider other keys if the hornpipe is suitably awesome). We intend to plug this in as a bridge for a take of the Newfoundland trad song “Lukey”. Since we would like to distinguish ours a bit from the versions recorded by Great Big Sea, the hornpipe should NOT be “Staten Island” since that’s the one they use in their original studio recording. I’d like something similarly jaunty, though, which does not need to be played super-fast in order to sound good.

2) Tunes to fill out the set which will represent the big fight scene in the climax of Bone Walker. I want these to be reels or reel-like tunes in minor keys, and I want them fast and furious and badassed. Tunes with more than two parts to them are acceptable, e.g., Farewell to Erin. (Which is a candidate for going into this set, but I want other options to consider.) Bonus points if the tunes have names that evoke storms, lightning, thunder, or wind, as severe weather will be a major factor in the scene in question.

So talk to me, session/tunes/music people! What tunes do you know and love that fit these bills? If you fling me a good one, I’ll get your name into the liner notes!

Faerie Blood

100 Faerie Blood sales achieved!

As of yesterday, a sale on the iTunes store officially kicked me over into three digits for Faerie Blood sales so far this year, since releasing the second edition! Many thanks to you, unknown iTunes reader! I hope you enjoy the book!

100 is not a huge number in the grand scheme of things–but honestly, given that I put it out there with the aid of Kickstarter and given that I am not terribly good at promoting myself (past posting here, and on my social networks), I’m quite happy with it! Monetarily speaking, tallying up my numbers, I see that I’ve made roughly $475 in sales. Psychologically speaking, though, there’s something quite satisfying about rolling over into three-digit territory. We’ll see how far I get by the end of the year!

Thanks again to all who have bought the new edition of the book, no matter what version you bought!

Faerie Blood

Self-pub sales update

In the event that any of you all coming in are new (since I’ve picked up a few Carina people following me on Twitter, hi Carina people!), here’s a quick note for you: while I’ll be writing for Carina under the name of Angela Highland, I’m also doing a series under my actual name of Angela Korra’ti. The first of those was Faerie Blood, originally published via Drollerie Press, reborn as a Kickstarter self-pubbed novel and now available on several major ebook sites as well as in print if you get it directly from me!

And now I’ve been keeping an eye on how my sales do. As expected, they’re teeny tiny numbers, but they’re non-zero, so now I’m pretty much at a state of ‘every so often pocket change shows up’. Which is really pretty nifty. This post is of course prompted by Amazon just notifying me that I’m about to get another drop of pocket change from them on the 28th–for the amount of $45.65. That’s going straight into the Buy Anna A Shiny Thing, Most Likely a New Macbook Fund. 😀

Amazon continues to be the place where I sell the most ebooks, though at least last month iTunes was giving it a bit of a run for its money. On both sites I’ve usually cleared 10 sales a month (though this month so far I haven’t had a one on iTunes). The Nook’s generally getting me 1-2 sales a month. Smashwords and Kobo are barely on the radar, with 2 sales for Smashwords and 3 for Kobo, and that’s total over the last couple of months.

I’m very pleased to report as well that whoever buys the next copy of Faerie Blood will in fact be my hundredth sale for this entire year! And remember, folks–if you want a print copy, you can buy those directly from me! Same deal if you’d like to buy the ebook and don’t want to go through the various vending sites, which of course want their own cut of my money. I will happily hand-sell you the book in the format of your choice.

Thanks to all who contributed to my sales last month! I hope you all have enjoyed or will be enjoying the book!
